Baby Baptism

Long time no chat!  Well I have some many things to share I just haven’t posted them.  Ack! I have going through some health issues with my eyes and some custom work for my shop I haven’t had time.  Alas I am back! with goodies to share.  I had a request a while back  mostly  baby baptism card for a sweet little one named AVA.

I used this cute monkey baby girl paper, with stickers and dies cuts to make this project all girl.

The little shoe dies are just so cute to me.  I used them as often as I can.  I created all my layer pieces and used the stripping like a chair rail.  I placed the sticker embellishments on top and behind the “rail”.  I love to personalize by adding a name it just makes it all the more special.

In the inside a simple message: Blessings on Baby’s Baptism

Thanks for stopping by…

Celebrate Your 1st Apartment

I know it seems like I have been away for ever!  I have been here!  However I have not forgotten you.  I will have tons to show u….promise.  I want to share a custom request I received and I really enjoyed it.  I was asked to make a 1st apartment card.  Perfect….it was a first for me!

1-IMG_6758The recipient was a male so not frilly fru fru. I needed a color scheme  and I had used my  “house cardstock Here on this layout.  What’s a girl to do…….Black and White!  TIP: That’s it, it can be masculine and feminine depending on your accent color(s).  Here I used CHERRY COBBLER for a crimson accent and added some Kelly/lime green.   I hexagon cardstock was my base layer and I added strips of crimson and green polka dots to bring the base of the card together.  I ran some gray cardstock through the BRICK EMBOSSING FOLDER and used WHITE INK SPRAY to distress.  I used an old stamp set, and fussy cut out the house.  My Base layer was complete.  The next to elements made me Giddy!

I don’t ofter get to use my WINDOWBOX DIE so I whipped it out.  This time I wanted  a Real Window …with reflection.  I cut out the window frame 3 times and insert a clear piece of cardstock in between.  Perfect.   I made a valance and was tickled pink!

The die came in handy for this layout…..sswweeeeeet!  Its a for sale sign so I used my dyno label and a sticker and I was good to go.

Normally I show this inside of this card however it was a personal photo and the actual apartment building.  Due to the privacy of my customer I will not reveal it…Trust me it was Cute!  See you soon!

Best Wishes

This card is a trip!  Let  me just get that out of the way! LOL.  I make custom cards as many of you know and recently I was asked to create a Wedding card  for my coworker by June 5th.  Ok no big deal.  I noticed she didn’t give me colors or a theme.  So as it got closer I asked her what was the theme, she said….skulls and crossbones!  I said Oh! silence.  This bride is doing her thing!

I did it!

Since I knew the theme  still wanted the card to be elegant.  I used MFT flourish and upsy daisy  to dd elegance and whimsy.  I tucked in a lace doily added a heart die from papertrey ink, a few banners, all layered atop some framelit dies…and topped it off with a silhouette cut file ofskull and cross bones!  The inside featured a doily,  framelit and the couple from Papertrey ink.  There you have it!

Although this was a unique card I hope she truly enjoyed her special day.

It’s A Pooh Baby Shower!

Hello Peeps,

Here’s a cute Pooh Baby Shower card !  It came out just darling!   I couldn’t find a ton of the nursery color Pooh but I love the way it turned out.

I attached the honeycomb background to the base and applied stickers with foam dots.  TIP:  Use your layout backgrounds on your cards also.

I punched out some banners and added little bits.

I grounded the bottom half of the card so I could add my sentiment.

I had  minimal dimension and voila the card was complete.  All I had left to make was the box.

Supplies:Papertrey Ink Cardstock, Twine, Silhouette Cut files baby shapes, KBS studio background, Winnie the Pooh Stickers from Michaels, stamps

Cards, Valentines Day

Love Note

Its  a beautiful day here in Chicago.  The sun is shining, still chilly but its a pretty day.  I am watching my husband make whole wheat pizza dough for me so I can make a homemade pizza!  His willingness to make the dough just reminded of a little something sweet I made for him…A Love Note.

Since he works third shift our schedules are opposite and I wanted to just let him know how much I love him.  So I made this for him.  What was funny is he had some beautiful flowers in a vase waiting for me when I got home.

The inside was a 3 x 4 Card but the note was actually in the front pocket written on the tag.

You can see the note peeking out of the top.  The card was faster than the journaling.  I used a pocket from the Simple Stores  Love Memories Pockets.  On the base to make  dimensional background I  punched out hearts, and used a little mists in the top left corner.  I used Black seeing I didn’t want it to be too girly.  I stamped on the work love notes from  two different stamps.  TIP: Cut your stamps…I only needed the work NOTE but the stamp set said Just A NOTE so I cut off..Just A. I added freckled fawn washi tape(sold out) and Love paperclip  and wood envelope(from a previous scraptastic kit club kit)

TIP:  As a papercrafter and all around crafter don’t forget to make your loved one gifts.

Are they not the cutest Potty People LOL!  I cut them out using a free SVG file courtesy of

I use corrugated cardstock from M’s on the fella to add texture.  Love the denim jeans, lol.  TIP: add texture. You don’t always have to use an electronic die cutting machine I cute these out by hand.

I did a few simply layers inside and my card was complete!  The Potty People saved the day!
